Electives are now called "Choice Enrichment" classes because they are choice-based. These classes will meet on Fridays. Like the Essential Enrichment classes, the Choice Enrichments are academic classes and will be assessed.

Elective choices are:

• Science Olympiad:This class is for those who love to explore the various aspects of science. Science Olympiad is a rigorous academic interscholastic competition that consists of a series of team events that are well-balanced between the various science disciplines of biology, earth science, chemistry, physics and technology.
• Audio/Visual Exploration:In this class, students will create podcasts/radio shows, record music and introduce video content that could be aired on URTV. Students in this elective must work in a variety of groups and be dependable. Students must plan, draft and complete thorough scripts/storyboards before beginning the production process.
• Digital Photography:Students in this elective will have the satisfaction of seeing their work archived for life through Evergreen's first in-house yearbook production. Students will become familiar with a variety of programs used to produce and enhance our school's yearbook. Additionally, students will learn the basics of photography. They will explore terminology, composition, perspective and lighting techniques. Student photographers produce high quality shots to be used in our yearbook.
• Yearbook:As a new component this year, students are working exclusively in Microsoft Publisher to develop the 2009 Wolf Tracks yearbook. Yearbook staff members report on school events; interview school staff, students and parents; write about the school community; use Publisher to arrange their text, pictures and graphics on yearbook pages; and plan the climactic yearbook distribution party in May.
• Chorus: Directed by Sue Ford, this is a place to focus on the development of voice, the enjoyment of singing, and the skill of harmonizing with other voices. Songs from a variety of styles, cultures and languages are introduced and chorus members can help determine which songs will be part of the chorus repertoire for the season.
• Jam Band: Middle school musicians have the opportunity to form a band underneath the direction of professional guitarist, Rick Praytor. Rick guides instrumentalists and singers of all types to work together and create music that comes from their interests and tastes. By audition only.
• After School Marimba Band: Marimba classes focus on whole body rhythm training, singing, world music repertoire and proper percussion. Any student in the 6th, 7th or 8th grade can come try the beginning class at any time. • Drama: Drama explores the imaginative world of theater and acting. the class works together to select and develop a play to present to the Evergreen community. The Drama elective has two major performances a year and requires a year-long commitment.
• Art: Art is required for grades K-5, but it is a choise-base class for middle schoolers. In this elective, the boundaries are your own imagination. Art supplies will be your tools, art history and technique will become your knowledge. Work on building an artist's portfolio, beautifying our community and exploring the local art scene.
